How do I get a business license for my homebased business?
You will need to submit an application for a conditional use permit (CUP). There is a one-time fee to process this application. Once the conditional use permit has been approved and issued, the business license application will be processed.
How quickly can I get my license?
It depends on the zoning of the location of the business. If a conditional use permit is required, it will take longer to process.
How long is my license good for?
Grantsville City business licenses all expire December 31st. Renewal notices are sent out in early December.
How can I renew my license?
The renewal notice should be turned in to the City Recorder's Office. The fees may be paid by mail, phone, or in person.
I didn't receive a renewal notice for my business license. Am I still required to pay the late fee?
Yes. Regardless of receipt of the renewal notice, the business is responsible to maintain a current business license.

Yes, all persons desiring to engage in door-to-door solicitation must complete an application for a peddler's license and register with the City. An identification badge will be issued and must be worn prominently on the person while soliciting or peddling within the City.
How do I get a Solicitors License?
Every person conducting or managing the business of soliciting or peddling, shall post a surety bond, submit an application, and provide a current BCI background check for review and approval.
What is the penalty for soliciting or peddling without a license or permit?
Any person or entity who conducts door-to-door sales without a license shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor.
